Ray Ashton is the Founder, CEO and CTO of RTOS™, and the Chairman of AFFECTS SAT Corporation, a Texas-based company incorporated in 2017.
Mr. Ashton conceived the idea of RTOS™ decades ago. As a 35-year veteran of Aerospace, he realized that like many other visionaries and pioneers before him, he had embarked upon a long journey of absolute determination. Although most successful entrepreneurs perceive themselves as visionaries, wishing for the stars while continuing to do things as before with some improvements, that hardly qualifies them as true visionaries. “True visionaries need passion, dedication, wisdom and unselfish purpose; when combined with a strong patriotic love of country, nothing can stop a true American visionary.”
Mr. Ashton has decades of innovation experience, whose pioneering ideas are destined to place America ahead of any other nation. His projects and startup companies have incubated entirely new industries. His career began as a Systems Engineer at Rocketdyne where they built the Space Shuttle Main Engines (SSME), aka, RS-25 rockets. He later received a promotion and moved to the Space Division in Norwalk, California at Rockwell International. After serving at Rockwell International, Mr. Ashton launched startup companies in California and later in Texas.
Prior to RTOS™, Mr. Ashton innovated Q-CAST technology at Quad International Communications Corporation (QICC) where he was the Founder, CTO, CEO and Chairman.
He attracted Lucent Technology/Alcatel with his Q-CAST innovation. Lucent later signed a $133M Agreement with QICC, which was announced in a major Press Release. The Q-CAST technology became an enabler for the very first VPN in the Telecom industry, forming the foundational infrastructure of New Media. Throughout his career, he has brought tremendous value and credibility to growing startup companies. Mr. Ashton is doing the same at RTOS™.
Over the years, Mr. Ashton has brought in many hundreds of millions of dollars in investments or contracts from large corporations and has transformed startup companies into powerhouses with his global credibility. He received The Smithsonian Institution Laureate Honor of Visionary of the Year, “Search for New Heroes”, for his Q-CAST innovation; he was nominated by Lucent Technology. Mr. Ashton also earned NASA’s Excellence Award for the successful STS-51 launch while serving at Rockwell International and is an active member of The World Economic Forum.
As an Aerospace visionary and innovator, Mr. Ashton pushes the limits of today’s technology with RTOS. His approach also builds on the latest developments in Quantum Mechanics and AI, while never forgetting his bold “Vision Without Boundaries”. He believes that in order to make humanity a multi-planetary species, collaboration with like-minded entities should not only be encouraged, but also required, as the foundation of mutual and complementary growth.
Mr. Ashton earned his undergraduate credentials in Electrical Engineering at California State University in Northridge with Advanced Studies in Communications, including Optics and Satellites at the University of California in Los Angeles (MSEE eq. UCLA). Ashton served as an Adjunct Professor at LTU, lecturing on technology innovation and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Ashton is also an accomplished FAA-Licensed Commercial Pilot.
